im so sick of these a shiny face. What should I do? I hate to have those sheets of blotting paper every two hours to use. Thanks for any replies
Reply:i just started using pHisoderm 2.0% beta hydroxy wash and my skin is not oily at all.. seriously.. i can only use it once per day, (i alternate between regular pHisoderm and the beta hyrox. kind) cause it dries me out.. i have had oily skin for a while.. i used to have to blot or powder many times during work, and the past few nights, i could barely put any powder cause my skin was so tight.. i like it though.. good luck..
ps- i ordered B5 powder to try 10 grams per day for a month, but since i have been using pHisoderm w/beta hydroxy, i dont think i will even need it.. i think that if B5 eliminates all the oil from your skin that i would be in big trouble since my skin is so nice right now.. oh well.. we shall see..
Reply:Accutane is great. The oil will be gone. Also the moisture from your eyes and lips as well. I used Blixtex in the pot on my lips that really helped.
Instead of those expensive and tiny blotting sheets, try regular white tissue paper, like you use to put inside a wrapped gift. It works great.
Reply:Try using an astringent during the day (toner)

GOOD LUCK with the Accutane cause you are in for a real surprise "It is great " Your lucky too without insurnce that stuff costed me five hundred dollars
But boy was it worth it and yes it takes out that oil trust me mine was like sticking my face in a frying pan full of grease and it only took a month to clear up twelve years of cystic acne and helped scars. I am in my mid twentys soo embarrassing.
Anyway arnt the girls going for that shiney dewy look now.
I am really wanting to go on accutane, but I have no insurance, how did it only cost $500. Was that the total or per month. I would love to know.
Thanks
Reply:thats a great list guy!there r some heavy hitters on that list.i got saw palmetto in the vitimin section of my local walmart ans its pretty cheep.
Reply:3 grams is not enough……….I’m taking 10 grams a day
Reply:try using Milk of Magnesia as a mask after washing and toning(if you do).. it dries fast, so essentially you could do it after the shower while you were dressing, then wash it off b4 you go.. it dries me up all night, so i dont do it often.. usually only after i steam..
how much B5 are you taking to see a reduction in oil? i was taking 3grams a day and think i will stop since i am still pretty oily.. my skin had pretty much stopped breaking out due to OTC Lo (i think), cutting out coffee, eating 5 servings of fresh fruit and veggies daily, and cutting out dairy products..
thanks for responding..!
Reply:I HIGHLY recommend you try Vitamin B5………..my oil production has decreased dramtically in only 1 week…..
Usually at lunch time my skin would be all slicked up but I can now go through my whole work day without a build up of oil
And my acne is gone now…..I’m using:
-Retin-A (night time)
-Multi vitamin
-B-50 complex
-zinc
-Vitamin B5
-mild acne cleanser 3 times a day
my results have been incredible….in another week you won’t even know I had a moderate acne problem
Reply:I have extremely oily skin, but am able to keep the shine down most of the day by using a salycilic acid toner followed by a benzoyl peroxide cream 2x a day (before putting on makeup in the morning and right before going to bed at night).
I’ve never tried any of the prescription medications, but only because I didn’t need to go that far.
Good luck!
Reply:I will be sure to let you know. My doctor told me to wait for my peroid to start and then come take a blood test. once he receives the results he will call me and tell me when I can start taking it. This will be in the next week or so so I’ll let you know when I notice the results.
Wow…someone mentioned they paid $500.00 for Accutane…I thought $200 was bad. I live in Canada. 80% of the cost is paid with the drug plan I have though.
